The Old Kings Head and The Sheaf are included in CAMRA's 2015 Good Beer Guide.
There now eleven SE1 pubs listed in the annual publication. In 2011 there were just seven.
"Down a narrow cobbled road off Borough High Street lies this traditional pub," is how the new guide describes the King's Head Yard outside The Old King's Head.
The Sheaf – below the Hop Exchange – is "remarkably bright and airy for a basement bar" according to the guide edited by Roger Protz.
The other pubs maintaining their position are Simon the Tanner in Long Lane, The Royal Oak in Tabard Street, The Ship in Borough Road,
The Market Porter and The Rake in Borough Market, The Charles Dickens opposite the Jerwood Space in Union Street and The King's Arms in Roupell Street.
