A Tesco Express convenience store will form part of King's College London's controversial Premier Inn hotel development on Borough High Street, it emerged this week.
Last year Southwark's planning committee gave the green light to proposals by King's College London to knock down of a row of historic shops, offices and warehouses in Borough High Street and replace them with a new low-cost hotel and shops.
In September we revealed that the new hotel will be part of Whitbread's Premier Inn chain.
Now Tesco has applied for an alcohol licence for a new Tesco Express convenience store as part of the same development.
The consultation period on Tesco's application runs until 5 December.
