Detectives are investigating an incident at Elephant & Castle on Tuesday morning which left a 22-year-old man in hospital with stab wounds.
"We can confirm that police were called at 11.50am on Tuesday 10 February to reports of a GBH in Draper House in Elephant & Castle," said a Southwark Police spokeswoman.
"Officers found a 22-year-old man at the scene who had been assaulted and stabbed.
"He is currently in a south London hospital and his condition is stable."
Detectives from Southwark CID are investigating.
The London SE1 website understands that the victim collapsed outside the Brighthouse shop at the Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre.
