Police in Southwark are planning to take measures to tackle a recent spate of sexual attacks around the Elephant & Castle.
Southwark's borough commander Ch Supt Zander Gibson spoke of his concern about the problem at Tuesday night's meeting of the Southwark Safer Neighbourhoods Board held at the Beormund Community Centre.
"We're looking to adapt some of our practices and protocols to target in particular some of the stranger sexual attacks that we've experienced recently around Elephant & Castle," said Ch Supt Gibson.
"We've now got one of the problem areas in the south of London with stranger sexual attacks.
"I'm talking predominantly here about inappropriate touching and exposure, but we have seen an increase in that around the Elephant."
