Low-cost supermarket Lidl is planning to redevelop its Old Kent Road store.
The German retail chain has submitted a planning application to demolish the existing single storey Lidl store near Bricklayers Arms and replace it with a new building with a supermarket at first floor level and extra parking on ground level.
The new store would have more than 40 per cent more floor space than the existing shop, with one more full-time job and four part-time jobs likely to be created.
The store – which is just outside the Congestion Charge area – would have 92 car parking spaces compared to 53 at present.
Shoppers would use a travelator to reach the new store from ground level.
