Union Street and Redcross Way were filled with people, stalls and activity on Sunday for The Great Get Together Bankside, part of the nationwide initiative inspired by the late Jo Cox MP.

Union Street was closed to traffic between Southwark Bridge Road and Borough High Street for the street party which was organised by local charity Bankside Open Spaces Trust.

There was live music on four stages, a 'Feast on the Street', a dog show and a bake-off cake competition.

In Red Cross Garden maypole dancing was one of many activities on offer at the village fete.

The Gentlemen Baristas from The Coffee House organised wacky races in Redcross Way.

Musical performances included the Borough Welsh Choir and the Nightingales from Blackfriars Settlement.

Surrey Docks Farm brought sheep, goats, a shetland pony and other small animals.
