KFC to replace Roxy Bar & Screen in Borough High Street

Roxy Bar & Screen had been trading for more than a decade when it closed down in June this year.

Planning permission to turn the venue into a class A5 takeaway was granted by Southwark planning officers in August.

Now it has been confirmed that the bar will become a branch of international fried chicken chain KFC.

In a planning application for the new shopfront, the owners of the new takeaway claim that the materials have been "chosen to reflect the local surroundings and history as well as the upbeat development of the area".

KFC does not currently have any other outlets in the SE1 area.
