10 years after the closure of the nearby Dockhead Post Office, stamps and postal services are now available at Ronnie's Supermarket in Tanner Street.
Post Office services will be available at Ronnie's Supermarket for a total of 108 hours a week:
• Monday to Thursday: 7am-11pm
• Friday & Saturday: 8am–11.30pm
• Sunday: 9am-10pm
The new Post Office – which has a single counter inside the Nisa convenience store – launched on Wednesday this week.
Baldev Kahlon, Post Office network operations manager, said: "We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their bills, withdraw cash from their bank accounts, and send and collect their mail at a time and place that suits them best."
He added: "We know how important our services are to customers, and are confident that this brand new Post Office alongside our 11,500 branches across the UK, will ensure that people in the community have easy access to our services."
The nearby Dockhead Post Office closed in 2008 despite a local campaign to save it.
