Reviews of Elliot's Cafe

We went with a group of people to Elliot's on Friday night and found the staff to be super friendly and knowledgeable, the menu was delicious, seasonal and all produce is sourced from local English Traders.
The atmosphere was really fun too, quite rustic and homely but also kinda swanky. we far out stayed our booking, but the staff always had a smile for us and were more concerned with us having an enjoyable experience, than simply turning tables over.
All in all it was a great night out and has become one of my new favourite restaurants!

Popped in for dinner one evening when passing as had been on the list for a while.

Service was good and staff friendly.

We shared scallops to start; they came with a curried sauce, which went down well, but the scallops themselves were full of grit.

We then both had the roast chicken. The chicken itself was good but there wasn't much of it. It came with gravy, a pea-like puree and cabbage. All tasty but, at £13, it seemed over priced given the portion and then we had to pay extra for potatoes.

Despite still having room, we left without dessert because they were priced at ~£7, which seems a bit high for somewhere with a cafe feel.

It's simple food and the quality is similar to Canteen but more expensive and for less of it. We left feeling disappointed and wouldn't return in a hurry.
