inscrutable service charge
we tried Tanner & Co last night.
one bottle of gavi : £29.00.
bill: £32.63.
the service charge for drinking/ ordering at the bar was automatically added.
we were slightly prepared for this having read the reviews.
what we were not prepared for was the wine being placed on the bar, fairly near us (no pouring to taste) and perhaps more importantly NO pouring whatsoever.
we couldn't be entirely certain it was for us initially.
we were hoping for a decent alternative to the woolpack.
tanner & co was not it.
oh, the wine was ok and it was moderately busy.
we'll not be rushing back.
well maybe to use the pommel horse, but they probably charge 12.5% for vaulting on that too.
