As a long term SE1 resident, I have found it very frustrating this lovely looking Vintner pub is always closed when I walk past.

To my delight, when I called for their opening houts I was informed they are now opening in the evenings on weekdays and Saturdays as well.

The interior is lovely and feels like you have stepped back in time and Dickens is perched at the bar, wine glass in hand.

The staff were extremely friendly, telling us the history of the venue. We then bought a rather stunning bottle of white wine and went out into the rear courtyard to enjoy the sunshine.

Saturdays are quiet at the moment as people aren't very aware of the new hours to spread the word and head down for a unique experience in the UK's own Vintner Pub before the change their minds.

You won't be disappointed.

ps. we didn't sample the food as we were booked into the Menier Restaurant but will try next time and report back.
