Shocking!!
One of the worst meals I have had in a long time!

15 min wait for a glass of water whilst trying to decide what to have from the limited menu.

Went for a Sunday roast - a good test

What appeared before me was a limp plate of over cooked ant Bessie's if every I saw anything

Friend ordered eggs benedict

Came out cold

Sent back still no better

Never to return

Effortless
Excellent meal here on Saturday night - I am amazed that this place doesn't get more coverage. Apparently Mark "Sarge" Sargeant, an ex-Gordon Ramsay high-flyer, is the executive chef here, and it showed in that the quality of the food and service were sky high. Booking online was very easy too, and the views over the river are great. I've had a bunch of mediocre meals in recent weeks in SE1 (e.g. Garrison, Bermondsey Kitchen, Magdalen) so this more than made up for it. V good.
Fantastic!
My partner took me to the Swan at the Globe on friday night. I must say i was very impressed! The staff were all really helpful and pleasant. We were given a complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival. I had the potted shrimps which came out a bit hard but apart from that the food was divine. My partner had the pidgeon for starter (v nice), and the grilled calves liver for main which was so tasty! I had the baked cod ratatouie for main which was gorgeous, and we shared a side salad with blue cheese, so rich and creamy. We shared a bottle of a gorgeous, smooth french red wine, the bill, with service, was just over £80. A must for a special occasion, ask for a window seat, the view of St Pauls is great.
