The food was reasonable but really very salty and trust me I like salt! The garlic bread was supermarket finest and I have never been to an Italian restaurant with quite so many ketchup bottles available!?! That said the salads looked ok
So in short a bit of a disapointment - you would think that given it's location, opposite the Premier Inn County Hall they would up their game but apparently not
would I eat here again? No would I recommend it? Again a No! Try somewhere else
We waited 45 minutes giving up on the idea of being approached, and attempting to hail a waitress ourselves to take our drinks orders.
We asked someone to come and serve us three times before anyone made a note of what we wanted. The drinks, when they came, came singly and spaced far apart - two of us had nearly finished by the time the third got her drink.
The food . . . was dire. We were not expecting superb, gourmet dishes - we were expecting standard, decent cafe food. What we got were Birdseye burgers in sub-standard buns. I ordered the melanzane - this was virtually inedible, and nothing like what melanzane should be.
In their favour, Cucina has furnished itself well, and their fries are passable. Hiring new staff (chefs and waitresses) should be on the management's immediate agenda.
