We shared a starter of warm breads and dips. We had 2 lamb steaks each cooked just right with an excellent salad and chips. There was a spicy dip to share. We had a bottle of Leffe each. Finally, an excellent authentic Turkish coffee. And The price? - came to £19.90 for both of us.
Oh - and the place is fantastically decorated and the staff are excellent. Will I go back? - it's now on my top 10 list. Nuff said.
I went here again recently with a friend. He ordered a beer to drink, I ordered the only red wine on the menu that is available by the glass and is NOT the house red. When it arrived I tasted it and it was truly disgusting.
Next time a waiter passed, I asked him if he could tell me, based on the smell, if he knew which wine it was; he sniffed it and immediately said "The house red"! So, they had brought the wrong wine, which was easily noticed because it was so vile. I should emphasise that I am not a fussy wine snob -- I very rare spend more than a fiver on any bottle in the supermarket.
Go to EV for the location, the atmosphere, or for any other reason, but DON'T order the house wine!
Service always excellent, price is definately value for money and setting couldn't be lovlier.
The only downsides were (i) the service (the staff seemed to be having some sort of argument among themselves all evening), and ten minutes after ebing seated we had to ask for a menu to look at, and the (ii) house red wine that my companion had. Utterly appalling!, and about £3.40 for a small glass. (£3.40 for a whole bottle of this stuff would be expensive in a supermarket for wine of that quality). They only offer a couple of different wines by the glass, and fortunately I had the Australian Merlot, at about £3.70 a glass, which was fine.
