African Volcano pop up at Great Guns Social
Went to this pop up restaurant at this venue last Friday and it was great. I'd been to Fodder - the previous pop up - a couple of times too, and that was excellent. So I'm definutely going to keep my eye on what comes next at Great Guns Social.
But I thought given the quality of food and service it should have been busier! My friend had steak and said was very good. I had mushroom burger and loved it. Great peri peri sauce and delicious flavours. It's only there til 8 September.

Great lunch at the Goldsmith
The Goldsmith in Southward Bridge Road remains one of the best pubs to eat at in SE1. Last Sunday we had a great lunch... the crisp roast pork was cooked to perfection as was the roast turkey. great beer, a comprehensive wine list and friendly staff make this somewhere well worth heading to.
Good Sunday Lunch
Popped in on Sunday. Very good roast beef. VG roast pot's, and excellent Yorkshire puddings. Mrs I had gnocchi, also said to be good.

Friendly service too. If they put a half-decent real ale on (they had Adnams and Bombardier - neither were up to much), this would be an even better place than it already is.

Looking good
Popped in on Friday evening for a drink and went back for Sunday lunch. The staff are efficient and friendly, the pub has been refurbished tastefully to a very high standard, nice music, ambience etc. weekday menu looks lovely. We had the roast beef and the pork belly...both delicious, good sized portions and all very tasty. i had to reconsider desert as i was feeling too full but the puddings looked very tempting. Highly recommended.
Great Little Gastro Pub
I really like this pub. It has recently been refurbished and offers great food, wine and a cosy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and it has afternoon sun too!

Worth a visit.

PS. this photo is of a previous pub.
