What a lovely find
Looking for somewhere for a quick lunch without the prices of the nearby The Vault or Starbucks (which was crowded)and we stumbled across this little gem. Ought to have been cautious about entering a café with only 2 customers (was Saturday 14:30), but hunger overcame caution and we entered to be greeted warmly by the owner and shown ideal seats - the menu was extensive and very adequate for a lunch - sandwiches and baguettes of all flavours - toasted or plain - optional salad - and all were prepared to order. Ok - as it was virtually empty the service was quick so cannot say when busier. The food was delicious, and we both opted for a slice of a rather naughty looking gateaux, again delicious followed by 2 coffees from a wide choice. Perfect. And the cost? Just £13. Toilets were nothing special. Surroundings were clean and functional - but we came to eat not gaze and this café satisfied that perfectly. Will definitely revisit when next in the area.
Very bad experience. Not worth your hard earned money!
Staff obviously didn't get the memo that 'customer is the king', because only thanks to customers the staff has a job. There are a lot of friendly cafes in the neighborhood where staff doesn't have a problem with attitude. Stay away, if you can!

I went for a walk along the river during the weekend and because nearby Starbuck's was too busy, we decided to walk it to this nicely looking cafe. They had cosy sofas, which is a plus. While my friend went to the toilet, I was waiting in line near leading toward the cash register. After about 10 min waiting, the waiter asked us what we would like to order and I started ordering, his female colleague jumped in, interrupted me abruptly and said that we are actually not waiting in line. Then she pointed out to another line of about 3 people that was near the entrance. I looked behind us and there were about 4 people waiting in 'our' line. So I have asked her why she is telling us that after we wait 10 minutes. She didn't even answer me and was ignoring me. I am a fairly laid back customer, but this was too much even for me. I told her that customers don't deserve such arrogant attitude and pointed out that such behavior doesn't belong in a good French cafe.
