Really good now
It's probably not normal to give two reviews for the same coffee shop, but my last one was so negative that I couldn't really let it stand since there's been such a turnaround. So...

I just have to say how great the place has become. For a while now I've found it surprising how friendly, accommodating and helpful the staff are. They have a great attitude - as an example a staff member offered to take away my mug when I was finished, and when I replied that I was planning to get a drip refill he brought it to my table. What a great guy!

This is definitely one of my favourite Starbucks cafes in London, if not the UK.

A nice little cafe that bucks the Starbucks trend.
Sumner St Starbucks : a chain cafe with a difference.

I've been in there a bunch of times since they opened and have to say competition from the neighbouring restaurant-cafes is long overdue. They seem to only be open 4 hours a day on weekends and Starbucks ' trademarked American can-do attitude and customer-focus doesn't seem to have reached this far south of the river.

Staff are a little keen to go home and will hurry to intercept you at the door to let you know they're closing in 20 minutes.
