Went there last Friday for a WIne maker evening as I was invited by my Boss!!!(on a Friday) The place looks newly refurbished and the restaurant is on two level. Got a voucher ...for attending thanks...for 50% off food Lunch offer. Took my girlfriend there and WAOOOO. We had a " Mise en Bouche" so they say...to start with !!!! Impressive....Can't remember what it was but was lovely. My girlfriend had Watercrest salad with quail egg and black pudding and I had the asparagus soup with cornish crab for starter then she had a risotto and I had the wood pigeon. Facinating food and very tasty so I thought. We had a bottle of wine, Sancerre and the bill was #47.00 for two of us with the 50 %off the bill.
Service was spot on and it wasn't too busy when we went, was out in 1 hour so perfect for my Lunch break. I am sure this place will soon be known by many of us. I am surpised no-one did ever put a comment on this restaurant, may be because it is the restaurant of the Mercure Hotel... but very happy to be the first. Will go back as I was very impressed.
