A walk down memory lane
The last time I visted tower tandoori, was a very long time ago.

Gone are the traditional booths, red carpet and the water feature. The restaurant is welcoming and a modern dining room is tastefully decorated with a bohemian feel.

The food is not the usual curry house fair but not to modern to put you off. My dish a keralan coastal cod special aptly described by the waiter was everything I could have hoped for. Well presented in a banana leaf boat with a cone of lemon rice, I was pleasantly surprised.

Even though I was dining on my own, I was made to feel welcome and no doubt I will be returning next month when I visit the area again.

Great Olympic Curry
Stumbled into this great Indian place after visiting a friend who lives a couple of roads away. Told them we were in a bit of a hurry as we wanted to see the fireworks on tower bridge. The waiter was very accomodating and friendly. He recommended a few good dishes and bought the food out quickly, even though there were a few other tables. Good food and friendly service, we'll be back!
Awful
Ate here with a friend recently, food was not up to the standard to which it is priced. The service was rude and obnoxious, one felt like one was being shipped in and out (almost as if we were an inconvenience.
Hard to fault
Headed back to The Tower Tandoori a couple of weeks ago for the first time in ages. Not sure why we stopped visiting in the first place but our return was worth the wait - excellent food, attentive service and a great atmosphere.

We paid a return visit earlier this week to check that it wasn't a one-off and I'm pleased to say that it was just as good. They were happy to fit us in without any booking and the service was as good as ever despite the large office xmas party groups. The food covers all the traditional items you'd expect to find plus a good selection of more unusual dishes for the adventurous. I can recommend the king prawn pallak, the asian-style lamb special and the onion rice in particular!

Look forward to trying their takeaway service over the festive break...

Tower Tandoori
We paid a visit to Tower Tandoori for the first time this weekend. It is a lovely warm inviting restaurant. The service was very attentive, perhaps too much so with well over 4 waiters responding to our every gesture. I ordered a grilled vegetable dish as a main which was tiny (8 little pieces of veg) and expensive at almost £7. Our two pints of beer came to £9! We were not very full at the end of dinner which was disappointing considering the size of the bill!
So our local Indian although quite good was very expensive. Worth a try but save up first!
Review from a regular
I go to the Tower Tandoori at least once a month and think the food is excellent. All freshly prepared, beautifully cooked (tender) and not too expensive. Highly recommended.
Tower Tandoori
Almost cartoon surroundings and an army of waiters. Food not bad but not brilliant and a little quick to turn up!. Be wary of ordering pints; just shy of a tenner for a couples of beers seems wrong...
