Local parents have started a petition calling on Southwark Council to install a new pedestrian crossing in Borough High Street close to the junction with Trinity Street and Great Suffolk Street.
On the day that tickets for the London 2012 Olympic Games go on sale, Southwark Council has revealed that it is to apply for host borough status.
