Elephant leisure centre: cross-party call for rethink on squash courts
A cross-party scrutiny committee has called on Southwark's Labour cabinet to investigate ways of retaining squash courts as part of the rebuilt Elephant & Castle Leisure Centre.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson has refused to commit to the creation of a civic square at the Elephant & Castle, despite previously praising the plan as "fantastic" and "amazing".

A film company with offices at Southbank House in Black Prince Road was last week presented with the Social Enterprise Mark by Vauxhall MP Kate Hoey.

Three men were sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on Monday for their role in an online ticket fraud run from offices in Blackfriars Road.
