More than 40 years of television history have come to an end after ITV cancelled plans to build a new headquarters on the South Bank and its putting its riverside site up for sale.
Southwark councillors have turned down plans for a 220-room hotel in Blackfriars Road, arguing that the proposal didn't meet local planning policy and that visitor accommodation in the area had reached saturation point.
