Accounting and consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers has confirmed that it will move 6,000 staff to a new building at the More London site on Tooley Street in 2010.
The new building at 7 More London Riverside is due to be completed in 2010 and will house around 6,000 people; this is in addition to the approximately 4,500 people based at the firm's 1 Embankment Place offices.
The news comes as PwC prepares to leave its Southwark Towers offices by London Bridge Station this summer to allow work to start on the London Bridge Tower (aka Shard of Glass).
“This is an exciting move for the firm. The new offices will provide a high quality working environment for our people and incorporate our approach to sustainable practices by using low carbon and solar technologies," says Kieran Poynter, chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
Work on the 500,000 sq ft site on Tooley Street is expected to begin later this year.
PwC's new neighbours will include arch-rivals Ernst & Young.
