Mayor of Lambeth opens new gift shop at St Thomas' Hospital
The Mayor of Lambeth, Cllr Christopher Wellbelove, has opened the Friends of St Thomas' Hospital's new gift shop.
"I'm delighted to be back here," said the Mayor, referring to his visit to the Friends' Christmas market last December.
"I love supporting the Friends. I think you do absolutely amazing work for this very, very important hospital."
The shop has been relocated to the entrance of the Lambeth Wing after months of work to create the new Westminster Walk shopping mall at the hospital's main entrance.
18 volunteers work on a rota to keep the shop open. The shop sells cards, gifts and books.
Each year the Friends of St Thomas' Hospital raise many thousands of pounds through the gift shop and seasonal events to fund projects which benefit patients in the hospital.
