Tesco Express coming to Great Suffolk Street
Tesco is to open a convenience store on Great Suffolk Street.
The supermarket chain has applied for planning permission and a premises licence for the new store which – if approved – will be open 7 days a week between 7am and 11pm.
Tesco Express will occupy part of the ground floor of the new Unite student hall of residence near the junction of Great Suffolk Street and Lavington Street.
The company has applied for permission to install a cash machine outside the new store.
The Unite student residence has 230 rooms and a new 122-room Premier Inn hotel will soon be built next door.
A new Hilton hotel is currently under construction nearby.
A Tesco Express store opened earlier this year in Tower Bridge Road. The company also has plans for a store in Borough Road close to London South Bank University.
