The former footballer was presented with a cheque by year 10 student Liam Nolan for continued research into Leukaemia and Lymphoma.

Geoff himself contracted the disease in 2003 and since then has been a patron of the Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research charity.

The school has already raised more than 4,000 for the charity in memory of former pupil Nathan Teklebrhan who died in May.

Pupils and staff continue to raise money and awareness of this illness.
