Commuters and tourists crossing one of the Golden Jubilee footbridges alongside Hungerford Bridge on Wednesday found a 15-foot inflatable red ball wedged into the structure of the bridge.
New York artist Kurt Perschke has travelled the world with his RedBall Project and after a tour of South West England it has arrived in London.
On Thursday RedBall will be at the northern end of Waterloo Bridge before moving to Covent Garden on Friday.
Perschke hopes to bring the ball to the Millennium Bridge on Saturday (details to be confirmed) before the tour ends at the riverside terrace outside the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday.
