The Princess Royal visited the Union Jack Club in Waterloo on Wednesday.
The Union Jack Club, which provides accommodation for serving and past members of the armed forces and emergency services, is located in Sandell Street near Waterloo Station.
The Princess visited a set of rooms which have been converted to make them fully accessible to disabled guests with support from Help for Heroes, the Army Central Fund and Nuffield Trust.
Bathrooms have been replaced with accessible wet rooms and carers' facilities have been added.
The visit also included a tour of the recently refurbished kitchens at the club which supply food to guests and conference delegates at the centre.
The Princess is due to return to SE1 on Friday morning for a visit to the College of Occupational Therapists in Borough High Street.
