A 4-metre miniature replica of the European Union's tallest building has been unveiled at a model village on the English Riviera.
The baby Shard was unveiled this weekend at the Babbacombe Model Village, Torquay.
The replica of Renzo Piano's tower, which has rather fewer storeys than the real thing, is rather incongruously sited in the middle of a model of a provincial town square where it appears to have landed from outer space.
On special occasions the Babbacombe Shard even features a laser show not dissimilar to the underwhelming display the London Shard put on for its inauguration last July.
If the £29.95 price of a ticket to the Shard's viewing gallery has put you off, Babbacombe now offers an alternative 'View from the Shard' with a webcam installed at the top of the 4-metre high model tower.
Website visitors can operate the controls of the webcam at www.aviewfromtheshard.co.uk/shard-webcam
