Southwark Playhouse will open the doors of its new home on Newington Causeway on 15 May.
Founded 20 years ago in Southwark Bridge Road, the playhouse left its most recent home at London Bridge Station at the start of this year.
Next month the theatre opens the doors of its third incarnation in Newington Causeway, close to Elephant & Castle.
The first show in the 240-seat main space – to be known as The Large – will be Tanzi Libre, the first major London revival in over 30 years of the West End hit Trafford Tanzi, directed by Ellie Jones.
The 120-seat studio theatre – The Little – will open with the London premiere of the award-winning Juana in a Million.
To celebrate the launch of its new venue, the playhouse is offering 1,000 free tickets for Tanzi Libre to local residents.
All residents of the London Borough of Southwark will be able to book a maximum of 2 tickets per household. Tickets must be booked over the phone on 020 7407 0234. Proof of Southwark residence will be required when tickets are collected. Free tickets are not guaranteed and subject to availability but are available across the run from 15 May to 22 June.
