Borough Market to open on Wednesdays
Borough Market is to add an extra trading day to its schedule with the full market operating from Wednesday to Saturday each week.
"Borough Market has adapted to meet the needs of Londoners for hundreds of years and continues to do so," said managing director Keith Davis.
"Opening the market for Wednesday trading will make available a world-class, ingredient-led market four days a week and allows us to respond to the needs of our customers in 21st-century London, whilst our lunch market on Mondays and Tuesdays will continue to provide quality lunches for those working and living in SE1."
From Monday 2 September onwards Borough Market's hours will be:
• Monday & Tuesday: 10am-5pm (lunch market)
• Wednesday & Thursday 10am-5pm (full market)
• Friday: 10am-6pm
• Saturday: 8am-5pm
A new London Bridge farmers' market launches on Tuesdays at Guy's Hospital in late September.
