The former Southwark Fire Station and adjoining firefighters' training centre will be put up for sale in March this year.
Southwark Fire Station closed earlier this month and the London Fire Brigade's training centre is due to shut by March 2015.
Waterloo Lib Dem councillor Peter Truesdale, who sits on the London Fire & Emergency Planning Authority, tabled a question to the authority's Conservative chairman James Cleverly AM to find out more about plans for the site and for the London Fire Brigade Museum.
In a written answer published on Thursday Mr Cleverly replied that the authority intends to put the Southwark site on the market in March along with the nine other London fire stations closed this month.
The chairman also revealed that the authority is considering relocation of the museum to the former brigade headquarters on Albert Embankment where redevelopment plans are being redrawn.
