Packages of insulation material from a building site were scattered more than 180 metres along Blackfriars Road when a freak storm hit London on Saturday afternoon.
Fence panels surrounding the 240 Blackfriars construction site were blown across the whole width of the road, blocking all traffic.
The fences had been protecting stacks of insulation material to be installed in the new building.
These large packages were scattered along Blackfriars Road as far away as the post office – a distance of some 180 metres – as well as in Colombo Street.
The road was soon cleared by contractors working on the site.
