Early plans for a 25-storey tower in Shand Street - just across the road from Southwark Council's headquarters in Tooley Street - have been revealed.
Proposals for up to 70 homes in a 25-storey tower are part of the scheme for 22 Shand Street, immediately north of the railway line and adjacent to Southwark Council's Tooley Street HQ.
The proposed development includes the retention of 9 Holyrood Street and 14-20 Shand Street.
Outline details of the proposal are contained in a screening request to council planners, but no details of the developer or architect are given.
Last year Travelodge approached planners with a proposal for an 11-storey hotel on the same site.
The Shand Street site was part of a cluster of buildings purchased by the British Telecom Pension Scheme in 2011 as part of a £27 million deal.
