The Mad Hatter is not only a pub but a hotel with 30 bedrooms as well as a restaurant. The building was once a hat factory (hence Hatfields nearby) where the process drove the workers mad.
Now the frontage has been adapted to look like an old fashioned hotel where Dickens would be at home. He would appreciate the food which includes home-made brocolli soup with chunky bread, Top Hat Pie and Toad-in-the-Hole.
