Bermondsey's Leathermarket Gardens have been closed by Southwark Council for investigations into unexpected ground movements.
Leathermarket Gardens – bounded by Weston Street in the west and Tyers Gate in the east – were laid out in the 1930s.
"We are investigating ground movement at Leathermarket Gardens, said Caroline Bruce, Southwark Council's strategic director of environment and leisure.
"We hope to have more to report when our contractors have returned the findings from their investigation, planned for 7 to 11 November.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused to park users during these five days."
