A pop-up whisky and fine spirits shop has opened in Southwark Street and Laithwaites has relocated its wine shop to the former Borough Market offices in Cathedral Street as Vinopolis clears space for the Olympics.
The Whisky Exchange, normally found in the railway arches at Vinopolis, has set up a pop-up shop at 11 Southwark Street while its permanent home is used for Olympics-related activity.
Wine merchants Laithwaites have also vacated their flagship Stoney Street store and decamped to One Cathedral Street for the duration of the games.
Vinopolis, which last month closed its wine tour for refurbishment, is reclaiming some of its retail spaces for use during the Olympics by games sponsors Proctor & Gamble.
P&G will take over Vinopolis as the base for its global "Thank You Mum" campaign focused on the mothers of Olympic competitors.
