Sainsbury’s Local to open in Blackfriars Road
Sainsbury's is to open a small supermarket in Blackfriars Road.
The Sainsbury's Local store will be situated on the ground floor of Friars House, an office block at the junction of Blackfriars Road and Pocock Street.
Friars House is under refurbishment as the new home of the Practical Law Company which is currently based in Hatfields. Three retail units have been created on the ground floor.
The new store will be situated just 250 metres from the Sainbury's Local branch which opened last year in The Cut.
The company has applied to Southwark Council for an alcohol licence for the new store.
