Representatives of four of the parties competing to represent Waterloo and the South Bank on Lambeth Council took part in hustings at St John's Waterloo on Tuesday night.
The meeting was arranged by Waterloo Action Centre and St John's Waterloo with local resident Maya Lester QC in the chair.
The panel included incumbent Labour councillors Kevin Craig and Jennifer Mosley, as well as the three Lib Dem challengers Adrian Hyyrylainen-Trett, Audrey Eager and Charley Hasted.
They were joined on the platform by Conservative candidate Glyn Chambers and the Green Party's Michael Keane (Oval ward) who attended in place of the local candidates.
A statement from the third Labour candidate, local businessman Ibrahim Dogus, was read out at the meeting.
Topics discussed included the future of Waterloo Library, the impact of Universal Credit and the controversial ABBA-themed party venue proposed for Stamford Street.
UKIP was invited to take part in the hustings but did not attend.
