Teenager sexually assaulted at Mint Street Park

Mint Street Park remained sealed off on Wednesday afternoon after a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on Tuesday evening.

Police were called to the park, which is at the junction of Southwark Bridge Road and Marshalsea Road, at about 7.30pm on Tuesday.

A Southwark Police spokeswoman told the London SE1 website that the victim, a 17-year-old girl, had suffered a serious sexual assault.

The incident is being investigated by Southwark's Sapphire unit.
