A temporary ice skating rink will be set up on the South Bank at the foot of the London Eye this winter, Merlin Entertainments has announced.
Tickets will cost £12.50 at peak times and £10.50 during off-peak hours – but there's a catch: skaters must also take a flight on the London Eye which pushes the minimum price per adult up to £29.40.
The rink, which will be installed on the paved area between Jubilee Gardens and County Hall, will be open daily from 20 November until 5 January.
Although Merlin Entertainments claims that their rink is the first on the South Bank, County Hall offered ice skating on its riverside terrace seven years ago.
The South Bank observation wheel has been celebrating its tenth birthday this year with a range of events during 2010.
