Tristram Hunt visits Globe Academy
Shadow education secretary Tristram Hunt MP met pupils and staff at the Globe Academy on Wednesday morning.
Mr Hunt had talks with Matt Jones, principal of the 4-18 academy, and teachers.
He heard a presentation from members of the student council and put questions to the pupils about their experiences of good and not so good teaching, as well as their future ambitions
The historian-turned-politician also fielded questions about his job from pupils at the Harper Road school.
Globe Academy's new buildings were opened by education secretary Michael Gove in 2010. A year later the school was visited by US president Barack Obama during his state visit to the UK.
Globe is part of the ARK group of schools.
