The Countess of Wessex visited White Hart Yard on Monday.
She was visiting the offices of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists which are situated in the yard just off Borough High Street.
The Countess, who is patron of the royal college, met speech and language therapists to hear more about the RCSLT's latest campaign, the International Communication Project 2014.
ICP2014 is a joint global campaign which aims to raise awareness of the vital importance of communication and the critical difference that communication professionals can make.
Her Royal Highness signed the campaign's Universal Declaration of Communication Rights which outlines the devastating effects of communication disorders and pledges public support for the millions of people worldwide who experience them.
