St George’s Church says sorry for all-night bell-ringing
The church of St George the Martyr in Borough High Street has apologised to its neighbours after a technical fault meant the church bell tolled constantly through the night.
In a notice posted on the church doors on Tuesday morning, the parish said: "We are sorry that the bells of this church have been sounding since yesterday.
"We have been contacting contractors to get this fixed as soon as possible.
"We understand the disturbance it has caused and appreciate your patience with this."
