During May the Royal Oak pub in Tabard Street has rebadged its Harvey's Mild Ale as Archivist Ale in tribute to local historian Stephen Humphrey who died last year.
Stephen Humphrey, who died last November, was the foremost expert on Southwark's local history, the borough's former archivist and the author of many books.
Among his many interests Mr Humphrey staged music hall evenings at The Royal Oak where landlord Frank Taylor has now honoured him with the special Archivist Ale label.
Later this month there will be a further opportunity for tributes to Mr Humphrey at the Rotherhithe & Bermondsey Local History Society's meeting on Wednesday 31 May.
