The headteacher and staff at Cathedral School in Redcross Way have been selected for a top role supporting schools in challenging circumstances.
Sylvia Morris has become one of only about 100 heads across the country to be appointed in the latest recruitment round by the National College for School Leadership (NCSL) to the role of National Leader of Education (NLE). It also means the school is now designated a National Support School (NSS).
To mark the occasion she was invited to an induction event at the NCSL Learning and Conference Centre in Nottingham this week. The event will give the new leaders their first opportunity to network with each other and to discuss the role they will play in raising standards.
“I am delighted that Cathedral Primary School and I are able to serve the wider community in this way and look forward to working with NCSL in order to ensure that every school we serve is outstanding," says Sylvia Morris.
