The seventh Waterloo Carnival - held in and around Lower Marsh on Friday - had a jungle theme.

Five-year-old Leo wowed the crowd with his rendition of 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight'

This year the carnival procession included pupils from Johanna Primary School, Archbishop Sumner Primary School, Coin Street Nursery and Buffer Bear Nursery,

Also taking part were members of SE1 United, older people from Blackfriars Settlement and other local organisations including Roots and Shoots.

The procession started at Johanna Primary School and made its way to Waterloo Millennium Green via Lower Marsh, Westminster Bridge Road, Baylis Road and the Tanswell Estate.

As well as the procession there were special stalls on Lower Marsh, including information stalls from local organisations including The Old Vic, the Imperial War Museum and Tate Modern.

Entertainment on Lower Marsh was due to continue until late into the evening.
