The eighth annual Waterloo Carnival filled Lower Marsh and Waterloo Millennium Green with a science-themed extravaganza on Friday.
Groups taking part included Johanna Primary School, Coin Street nursery, Buffer Bear Nursery, Oasis Church Waterloo, Christian Aid and Blackfriars Settlement.
The carnival procession was greeted at Waterloo Millennium Green by Vauxhall MP Kate Hoey who thanked all the participants and paid tribute to the event's director Sarah Cretch who is stepping down.
"It's been eight years, but it has gone in the blink of an eye," said Sarah Cretch.
"It's been so much fun and it's so special – so many people want to get involved."
