300 evacuated from Waterloo Travelodge fire

Around 300 people were evacuated from the Travelodge London Waterloo hotel on Saturday night when a fire broke out on the first floor.

The Brigade was called just after midnight on Sunday morning and the fire was under control just before 1am.

Crews from Southwark, Lambeth and Islington fire stations attended the incident.

A London Fire Brigade spokesman said that the fire damaged part of a room on the first floor of the 279-room hotel in Waterloo Road and there were no reports of any injuries.
