TfL plans Festival Pier improvements
Transport for London has commissioned a feasibility study into how commercial opportunities could fund infrastructure improvements to Festival Pier on the South Bank.
News of the possible upgrade of Festival Pier – located close to Southbank Centre – comes as TfL published figures showing that passenger numbers on river buses and tours increased to a record-breaking 9.8 million in 2014.
TfL also confirmed its previous announcement that Bankside Pier will be extended by spring 2016.
